Throughout her pregnancy, Taylor Plemmons heard the same heartbreaking message over and over again.

Doctors warned that she would most likely lose her baby before the next appointment.

But Taylor refused to believe that would be her daughter’s story. 💙

“I just knew she was going to be okay,” Taylor says. “I kept telling my husband, ‘I don’t accept that. That’s not going to be our story.'”

Against overwhelming odds, her faith and determination carried her through months of uncertainty.

On January 12, little Margot Louise Plemmons entered the world at just 29 weeks and 1 day, weighing a tiny 1.7 pounds (about 770 grams). ❤️

Her journey had been difficult long before she was born.

After welcoming their first daughter, Scottie, Taylor experienced three miscarriages. Despite extensive medical testing, doctors were unable to explain why.

When she became pregnant again, the family hoped for better news.

Instead, at just 10 weeks, Taylor suffered a severe hemorrhage caused by a large subchorionic hematoma. Three more episodes of bleeding followed, each one leaving her terrified she was losing her baby.

Then, at 19 weeks, doctors discovered that Margot was experiencing severe fetal growth restriction. By 20 weeks, she measured below the 1st percentile for her gestational age.

At 23 weeks, Taylor was admitted to the hospital for constant monitoring.

“They kept telling us we were going to lose her,” Taylor recalls. “It was devastating.” 💔

Despite the fear, she found strength through prayer, quiet reflection, and focusing on protecting her mental well-being.

She also carried another heavy burden—being separated from her young daughter Scottie, who was too little to understand why her mother suddenly couldn’t come home.

Eventually, Taylor developed HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening pregnancy complication related to severe preeclampsia.

Doctors knew there was no more time to wait.

To save both mother and baby, they delivered Margot prematurely.

After birth, the tiny newborn was placed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where she immediately began receiving specialized care.

Taylor admits that the first few days felt unreal.

“I couldn’t process that she was finally here,” she says.

Because Margot was born so early, her greatest challenge became helping her lungs mature and gaining enough weight to grow stronger.

Despite her tiny size, the NICU team quickly noticed something special about her.

“Everyone laughs about how feisty she is,” Taylor says with a smile. “If you bother her, she’ll start swinging. She’s definitely got a little personality.” 😊💖

Five days after Margot’s birth came the moment Taylor had dreamed about for months.

For the first time, she was finally able to hold her daughter.

“It was the most incredible moment,” she says through tears. “When I finally held her and felt her breathing against me, for the first time in a very long time… I could finally breathe too.” 🤍

Margot is expected to spend several months in the NICU as she continues gaining strength.

Although each day brings new challenges, her progress has given her family renewed hope for the future.

Taylor continues sharing their journey publicly to encourage other families facing infertility, pregnancy complications, and long NICU stays.

“Even though none of us wants to be part of this club,” she says, “we’re here—and we’re going to support one another.” 💙
