A TINY BABY. A FAMILY FAR FROM HOME. AND QUESTIONS NO PARENT EVER WANTS TO FACE.

A TINY BABY. A FAMILY FAR FROM HOME. AND QUESTIONS NO PARENT EVER WANTS TO FACE.
Baby Ximena is only two weeks old, yet her family is already enduring an incredibly difficult medical journey. 🥺
Tonight, they are waiting in a Lubbock hospital, praying doctors can find the answers their precious daughter needs. 🙏
Ximena was born with Down syndrome, and doctors discovered a heart problem shortly after her birth. Despite that early challenge, the tiny girl was strong enough to go home with her parents, Maryann Mireles and Johnny Cazares, in Midland, Texas. 🩷
For a brief moment, they believed their family could finally settle into life with their newborn daughter.
Then, just days later, something changed.
Ximena began having trouble keeping food down. She became increasingly ill, experienced severe diarrhea, began losing weight, and appeared pale. Concerned for their daughter, her parents rushed her to the hospital.
Doctors soon determined that Ximena needed specialized care and arranged for her to be flown to Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock. Her parents had little time to prepare. They followed their tiny daughter with only the clothes they were wearing and whatever they had with them. 🏥💔
Now they wait.
Doctors are conducting tests as they work to understand exactly what is happening with Ximena. Her family is hoping for answers about her condition, including concerns surrounding her heart.
Meanwhile, five siblings remain back home in Midland.
The distance has created another heartbreaking challenge. Johnny may eventually have to return home to care for the children and continue working, potentially leaving Maryann beside their newborn daughter in Lubbock. For the family, it is an impossible choice between two places where they are desperately needed.
That is why Ximena’s big sister Lori is asking people everywhere to help carry some of the family’s burden—not only through financial support, but through prayer. 🙏🕊️
Pray that doctors find answers.
Pray that Ximena’s tiny body becomes stronger.
Pray for wisdom for every medical professional caring for her.
And pray for Maryann, Johnny, and all five siblings waiting anxiously back home. ❤️
Before she became sick, Ximena was pH๏τographed wearing an enormous pink bow, her tiny face filled with the innocence of a newborn. 🎀🩷
She has only been here for two weeks.
And right now, her family is simply asking the world to surround this precious little girl with love, hope, and prayer.
If you believe in the power of prayer, leave one for Baby Ximena below. 🙏🩷
