What was meant to be a joyful Memorial Day weekend family vacation quickly turned into a terrifying fight for survival when 2-year-old Quinn Robertson was bitten by a rattlesnake while exploring outdoors with her mother near a rental home in eastern Colorado.

The Robertson family had traveled from Kansas to celebrate an upcoming wedding, where little Quinn was excited to be the flower girl. But only moments after arriving, their celebration took an unexpected and frightening turn.

Doctors administered an extraordinary 30 vials of antivenom, performed a blood transfusion, and placed Quinn on a ventilator while closely monitoring her condition. Specialists later told her family that a rattlesnake bite this severe is exceptionally rare in a child so young.

After several anxious days, hope finally arrived.

Doctors were able to remove Quinn’s breathing tube, and seeing her open her eyes again became one of the happiest moments her family could imagine.

Although Quinn remained hospitalized during her aunt’s wedding, her loved ones found a beautiful way to include her in the celebration. Wearing her flower crown, the brave little girl was pulled through the hospital hallways in a bright red wagon, creating a heartwarming memory during an incredibly difficult time.

Nearly a week after the bite, Quinn was well enough to return home and continue her recovery.

She still has physical therapy, follow-up appointments, and healing ahead, but her family says her progress has been nothing short of remarkable.
