The debate over Sir Tom Jones’ future on The Voice UK has taken another turn after fellow coach will.i.am publicly backed a peтιтion calling for the legendary singer to return to the programme.

The fan-led campaign, launched by Aaron Howlett, has attracted more than 63,000 signatures from around the world. Will.i.am shared the peтιтion, adding a high-profile show of support to growing calls for ITV to reconsider Sir Tom’s departure.

Sir Tom, 86, has been ᴀssociated with The Voice UK since the programme launched in 2012, appearing as a coach across multiple series. Earlier this month, he told followers that he had been “fired” from his judging role, while reports indicated that discussions had taken place about a reduced involvement rather than a full-time coaching position.

ITV has since confirmed a new coaching lineup for Series 15, with Aitch and Cheryl joining returning coach Kelly Rowland alongside will.i.am. The broadcaster thanked Sir Tom for his years on the programme and for the many memorable moments he brought to the series. The next series is scheduled to air in 2027.

The peтιтion campaign has nevertheless continued to gather attention. Its organizer says supporters want Sir Tom reinstated as a coach, while ITV’s announcement makes clear that the programme is moving forward with a substantially different lineup.

Will.i.am’s decision to share the campaign has therefore added another notable voice to the public discussion. However, his support does not mean that ITV has reversed its decision or confirmed Sir Tom’s return.

For now, the future of Sir Tom Jones’ involvement with The Voice UK remains the subject of ongoing public interest, with fans continuing to make their views known through the peтιтion.
