Blood Before the Will: The Night the Rope Decided Everything 💔

Amara hung over the cliff, rain and wind tearing at her. One hand on the rope, the other pressed to her belly.

“Somebody help! Please! I cannot hold on much longer!”

Nora had both fists wrapped around the line, boots planted, shoulders screaming. “I have you! Hold on тιԍнт! Do not let go of that rope!”

Evelyn stood a few paces back, calm as ice. “Let her fall. Let her go right now, Nora.”

“Never! She is carrying your grandchild! How can you do this?”

Marcus didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t need to. “I never wanted this baby anyway. Cut it loose.”

“Marcus, no! She is your wife! Think about what you are doing!”

“This marriage was over before it even started.”

Evelyn’s command was sharp. “Cut the rope right now, Marcus.”

Amara’s cry tore through the storm. “Marcus, please! Think about our family!”

He looked at her the way a man looks at a line item. “I am thinking about my inheritance.”

Nora’s voice cracked. “Stop! Someone help us up here!”

Marcus drew the knife.

“Goodbye, Amara.”

He slashed.

The rope parted with a wet snap.

Nora lunged and caught only air. Amara’s scream vanished into the dark below.

For three heartbeats there was only rain.

Then a second rope—hidden, already knotted to an iron ring Nora had driven into the rock an hour earlier—jerked тιԍнт around Amara’s waist. She slammed against the cliff face, gasping, alive.

Nora had never trusted the first line. She had never trusted them.

Evelyn’s face went white. Marcus stared at the severed end in his hand as if it had bitten him.

Far below, headlights swung onto the access road. Sirens. Someone had heard Nora’s last shout.

Amara looked up through the rain, one hand still on her stomach, the other finding the hidden rope that had saved both of them.

Marcus finally understood: the fortune he wanted so badly would now be spent on lawyers, and the grandchild he had tried to erase would outlive his name.
