In 2018, a little Ukrainian boy named Timosha (Timofey) Sanko began a difficult journey after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). 🕊️

For nearly 20 months, Timosha and his family traveled between Ukraine, Belarus and Italy, searching for the care that would give their little boy the best possible chance.

Through chemotherapy and long hospital stays, Timosha endured more than any child should have to face. His hair disappeared, his days became filled with medical procedures, and there were moments of fear and exhaustion.

But there were also smiles. 💙

His parents, Yuriy and Yuliia, remained beside him throughout the journey, holding onto hope through every difficult moment.

Sadly, in August 2019, Timosha pᴀssed away.

But his story did not end there.

After experiencing compᴀssionate medical care in Italy, his parents made a promise to help other children facing childhood cancer. They founded “Timosha’s Smile” in his memory, with a vision of improving pediatric cancer care and supporting families in Ukraine.

Following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the organization also helped evacuate more than 100 children with cancer and their families to Italy, where they could receive treatment through partner medical centers. 🙏

What began with the heartbreaking loss of one little boy became a mission to protect and support many others.

Timosha may no longer be here to grow up, laugh or celebrate another birthday—but through the work carried out in his name, his smile continues to reach children and families who desperately need hope. 🌈💙

His life was far too short, but the love he left behind continues to make a difference. 🕊️✨
