Missing 411: Hundreds of People Mysteriously Disappear in US National Parks – A Time Gate or a Wild Monster?
Since 2011, former police officer David Paulides has documented over 1,600 cases of “unusual” disappearances in US national parks through his book series, Missing 411. The victims are often children under 12, the elderly, or people with disabilities. They disappear within minutes, often in open areas, and many bodies are found in “impossible” places – high mountain peaks, narrow ravines, or tens of kilometers from where they disappeared.
A chilling commonality: victims’ clothing is often neatly folded; sniffer dogs cannot detect them; the weather changes suddenly; and some disappearances occur during the day in crowded areas. Some bodies show signs of being “torn apart” or are found in unnatural positions. Paulides emphasized that the U.S. National Park Service refused to provide complete data and did not recognize any of the models.

Theories circulating widely online include:
Time portal: Some believe victims were sucked into another dimension.
Wildlife (Bigfoot, Skinwalker): Many cases occurred in areas with legends about strange creatures.
Military experiment/UFO: Some victims were found carrying broken or missing electronic devices near testing sites.
However, many experts believe this is a case of “cherry-picking”—selecting unusual cases while thousands of other disappearances have natural causes (hypothermia, getting lost, bear attacks). Nevertheless, the government’s silence and hundreds of unexplained cases have made Missing 411 one of the world’s most discussed mysteries.
Hundreds of people have been “swallowed up” by the jungle – and to this day, we still don’t know who (or what) is behind these disappearances.
