In the spring of 2019, eight-year-old Brayden Auten suddenly became seriously ill.

What began with stomach pain and diarrhea quickly turned frightening. His skin and eyes turned yellow, and doctors discovered that his liver was failing.

Cami Loritz, a nurse who worked in a transplant intensive care unit, learned about Brayden’s situation.
