🥺💗 BORN WITHOUT ARMS OR LEGS, MARIA CHANGED HER FAMILY’S IDEA OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE 🙏✨

When Adrianne and Jason Stewart decided to adopt another child, they never imagined that a little girl named Maria would change their entire family in ways they could never have predicted. 👶💗

A dentist also created a custom mouthpiece that could hold different tools, allowing Maria to experiment with writing, using a computer, and other everyday activities. 💻💗

And then there was her wheelchair, donated by Shriners Hospital.

Maria began learning to control it using the small limb she has below her shoulder. ♿✨

Her family has learned that independence doesn’t always look the way we expect it to.

Sometimes, it means finding a completely different way to accomplish something.

And Maria keeps finding those ways.

Her mother once admitted that the family sometimes placed limits on Maria without realizing it.

Then Maria would surprise them by doing exactly what they had thought she couldn’t do. 🥺💪

But perhaps the most beautiful lesson came from Maria’s siblings.

At first, some of the children wondered how they would play with a sister who was different from them.

One day, Maria’s mother asked four-year-old Joshua whether he still wanted her as his sister.

His answer was wonderfully simple.

She has eyes.

She can see.

She has ears.

She can hear.

And she has a brain. ❤️

That was all he needed to know.

To him, Maria wasn’t someone who needed to be defined by what she couldn’t do.

She was simply his sister. 🥹💗

Today, the children don’t focus on Maria’s differences.

They play with her.

They love her.

They include her.

And they have learned that having a different body doesn’t make someone less capable of being part of a family. 🌈👧👦

Maria has already changed the way her family sees the world.

Her mother says she has taught them to appreciate the little things and to realize that people are often capable of far more than they believe.

And perhaps that’s Maria’s greatest gift.

She didn’t just find a family.
