๐จ EMERGENCY SERVICES CALLED TO THE CAMPSITE
Emergency services were called to woodland off Strawberry Lane, near Great Wyrley, at around 8:45 a.m. on September 5 after receiving a report of a child in cardiac arrest.
Two ambulances, specialist paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene.
Despite emergency crews’ efforts, the baby was pronounced d#ead at the scene. Police later confirmed that she had been camping in the area with members of her family.
๐ฎ FOUR PEOPLE ARRESTED
Four people were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
They include a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from South Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton and an 18-year-old man from Walsall.
All four have since been released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.

Despite the arrests, Staffordshire Police have not publicly explained what happened before the emergency call.

The incident happened in woodland close to fishing pools in the Wyrley and Essington Branch Canal Local Nature Reserve.
A police cordon was placed around the area while officers carried out their inquiries. Reports described tents at the location, which was being used by the family despite not being an official campsite.
A small floral tribute was also left near the scene as the local community reacted to the tragedy.
