💔🕊️ Mother Speaks Out After Losing Her Four Children And Their Grandmother In Devastating Carbon Monoxide Tragedy

For Adriana Coleman, the sounds that once filled her home with life are now memories she holds onto through unimaginable grief.

The Toledo mother is mourning the loss of her four children — Liberty, Storm, Legacy, and Stone — along with their grandmother, 36-year-old Candace McAllister, after a tragic incident turned an ordinary day into a heartbreaking loss for an entire family.

The tragedy happened Wednesday in the 300 block of Phillips Avenue near Detroit in Toledo, Ohio.

According to investigators, the family had been inside a vehicle while waiting for ᴀssistance after experiencing a flat tire. During that time, carbon monoxide accumulated inside the pᴀssenger compartment, leaving the children and their grandmother unresponsive.

Authorities have not released every detail surrounding how the gas entered and remained inside the vehicle. However, Coleman said investigators later informed her that the carbon monoxide level inside the vehicle reached an extremely dangerous concentration.

“When they put their meter in the car to test the carbon monoxide level in there, the level was five times the lethal limit,” she said.

The children’s father arrived at the scene after learning about the situation. Toledo’s fire chief said emergency crews were contacted after he discovered the five family members unresponsive inside the vehicle.

For Coleman, the tragedy has also meant watching her husband carry the emotional weight of what he experienced.

“Pray for his sanity a lot more than anything else cause my husband is definitely going through it,” she said.

Emergency responders transported the victims for medical care, and the family waited for any sign of hope.

Legacy, Coleman’s 4-year-old son, remained on life support while doctors continued efforts to save him. On Friday, after an agonizing decision, Coleman chose to remove him from life support, marking the loss of her final child from the incident.

The family is now grieving five loved ones from two generations.

Coleman remembered Candace McAllister as someone whose personality could brighten any room.

“She had a great personality,” Coleman said. “She was definitely the life of the party.”

To the family, Candace was not only the children’s grandmother but also a beloved person whose absence has created another deep wound.

As she faces a future without her children, Coleman says she will miss the everyday moments that once seemed ordinary — the sounds of her family living together.

“I’m going to miss them yelling, and screaming, and laughing,” she said.

She also shared a sentence that reflects the depth of her loss:

“There wasn’t a day that I was not without my kids. Never.”
