💔🕊️ Washington Family Mourning the Loss of 7-Month-Old Bodhi After Vehicle Fire Outside Home

A Washington family is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 7-month-old Bodhi after a vehicle fire outside their home on July 21 forever changed their lives.

Bodhi’s parents, Jasmine and Brandon, remember their son as a happy, easygoing baby whose smile and laughter could brighten any room. They say he loved food, often reaching for bites from his sister’s plate, and greeted every morning with joy.

That happiness was suddenly interrupted by an unimaginable tragedy.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Bodhi was inside a parked vehicle with his 2½-year-old sister and his 12-year-old aunt while the family was preparing to leave. Bodhi’s father had briefly stepped away to water newly planted fruit trees near the family’s well house, expecting to return within moments.

During that short time, a fire broke out.

Family members immediately rushed to help.

Bodhi’s aunt courageously managed to bring his young sister to safety before calling for emergency ᴀssistance. According to the family, the young girl had already experienced tremendous hardship after losing close family members in a separate tragedy less than a year earlier, making her actions even more remarkable.

Brandon desperately tried to reach his infant son despite suffering injuries himself.

Jasmine later shared that her husband never stopped trying to save Bodhi.

She said his clothing was damaged by the intense heat, and he remained beside his son throughout the ordeal, refusing to leave him alone.

Emergency crews arrived quickly and brought the fire under control within minutes. Several people involved in the rescue effort were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Despite every effort, Bodhi could not be saved.

The tragedy has left the family facing overwhelming grief while also dealing with practical challenges. Jasmine has stepped away from work to be with her family, and with one family vehicle destroyed and another already out of service, transportation has become an additional hardship.

A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $45,000 to help the family with immediate expenses as they navigate this devastating chapter.

Authorities continue investigating the cause of the fire.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside local fire agencies and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Certified Fire Investigators are ᴀssisting in determining exactly how the fire began.

Officials say the investigation is being conducted carefully and compᴀssionately as they work to establish the facts.
