π₯Ίπ SHE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL TO WELCOME HER BABY β THEN WOKE UP TO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LIFE π·π
In October 2022, Krystina Pacheco went to the hospital in Texas to welcome her second daughter, Amelia. The birth initially went smoothly, and she finally held her newborn baby in her arms. πΆπ
But only days later, everything changed.
Krystina developed a severe infection that led to septic shock and toxic shock syndrome. Her heart, lungs and kidneys were affected, and she spent two weeks on ECMO along with dialysis as doctors fought to save her life. π₯π

Krystina survived β but the fight left devastating consequences. Because blood flow to her hands and feet had been severely reduced, she eventually had to undergo amputations of both arms below the elbows and both legs below the knees, along with numerous skin grafts.
She spent more than three months away from home.
Through every painful step, one thought kept her going: her children. π₯Ήπ
After leaving the hospital, Krystina began learning how to move, handle everyday tasks and use prosthetics. Slowly, she rebuilt her independence and found confidence in her new life.
By 2025, she had returned to work as a school psychologist, continued her studies in special education and worked toward her doctorate. She even held onto a simple dream β to dance with her husband again. πβ€οΈ
Krystinaβs life changed in ways she never could have imagined. But she came home to her family, and she continues to build a future filled with purpose, love and hope.
Sometimes starting over doesn’t mean returning to the life we had before. It means finding the courage to create a new one β surrounded by the people we love most. πποΈπ
