Wade Wilson remains at the center of renewed attention as his Florida case continues through the appeals process, more than two years after he was sentenced to d#ath.

HIS LEGAL BATTLE IS STILL ACTIVE

Wilson was convicted in 2024 of two counts of first-degree mu#der in connection with the 2019 d#aths of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz. He was subsequently sentenced to d#ath on both counts.

But the case has not reached its final legal conclusion.

The Florida Supreme Court’s public docket lists Wade Steven Wilson v. State of Florida, case number SC2024-1345, as an open mandatory-review d#ath-penalty appeal. The court heard oral arguments on February 5, 2026, and the docket shows additional activity later in the year, including the withdrawal of one of Wilson’s attorneys in May.

NO EXECUTION DATE HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

Despite the intense attention surrounding Wilson, there is currently no publicly announced execution date.

His d#ath sentences therefore remain in effect while the appellate process continues. A sentence and an imminent exec#tion are not the same thing, and further court proceedings can affect what happens next.

WHY THE CASE CONTINUES TO DRAW ATTENTION

Wilson’s case has attracted substantial public interest, including renewed media coverage and documentaries examining his crimes, trial and life on d#ath row. That attention has also generated discussion around his legal challenges and the unusual level of public fascination with the case.

For now, however, the legal position remains clear: Wilson’s convictions and two d#ath sentences have not been overturned, while his appeal remains open.

The case is still moving through the courts — and its final outcome has not yet been decided.
