💗🫀 AT JUST 6 MONTHS OLD, RUBY RECEIVED A NEW HEART — NOW THIS LITTLE “MIRACLE BABY” IS THRIVING 🌈🙏

When Ruby June Cotter was born, her parents had no idea that their seemingly healthy baby girl was carrying a serious secret.

She was born after what appeared to be a normal pregnancy on June 12, but something was quietly wrong with her tiny heart. 💔👶

For the first few months, no one knew.

Then, when Ruby was just 3 months old, her father, Brian, noticed that her arms and legs felt unusually cold and that her temperature was low.

Before Ruby could even receive a transplant, doctors had to perform open-heart surgery to implant a Berlin Heart, a mechanical device designed to support her failing heart while she waited for a donor. 🏥🙏

And then came the hardest part:

Waiting.

For approximately three months, Ruby’s family waited and hoped that a donor heart would become available.

Christmas was approaching when, after months of uncertainty, the phone call finally came.

A donor heart had been found. ❤️

Ruby was only 6 months old.

On December 22, she underwent the life-changing transplant.

Her parents knew the surgery carried enormous risks.

They knew their precious baby could die on the operating table.

But they also knew this was her chance to live. 🙏💗

The operation lasted approximately 10 hours.

For Ruby’s parents, those hours must have felt endless.

Then came the words they had been praying to hear:

Ruby was okay. 🥹❤️

Her transplant was completed without complications.

And just three weeks later, something her family had dreamed about for months finally happened:

Ruby went home. 🏡🌈

After spending so much of her young life surrounded by medical equipment and hospital staff, she could finally be home with her parents.

The transition wasn’t easy.

Her parents had become accustomed to having some of the best medical professionals just steps away, and leaving the hospital was understandably frightening.

But Ruby kept getting stronger. 💪💗

Today, she has made a remarkable recovery from her transplant.

She still needs regular medication and hospital checkups, but she is now able to enjoy life like a happy little toddler. 👧🌸

She smiles.

She plays.

She grows.

And she gets to experience the simple joys of childhood that her parents once feared might never be possible. 🥹🌈

Her family also received another beautiful reason to celebrate:

Ruby is preparing to become a big sister. 💕👶

After everything they have endured, Brian and Ashley can finally experience something they once thought might be out of reach — simply being a family together.

There is another emotional part of Ruby’s story, too.

Friends, relatives, and members of their community rallied around the family while Ruby was in the hospital. More than $100,000 was raised to help them through the difficult months, with funds being saved for the additional medical care Ruby may need in the future. 🙏❤️

Her parents know that her journey may include more heart transplants as she grows because donor hearts have a limited lifespan.

But for today, they are choosing to celebrate what they have.
