‼️ A 9-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO HAS SPENT NEARLY HIS ENTIRE SUMMER IN THE HOSPITAL LOOKED INTO A CAMERA AND ASKED STRANGERS FOR SOMETHING SIMPLE: “PLEASE PRAY FOR ME.” 💙🙏

Jamison was born with Harlequin ichthyosis, a rare and severe genetic skin disorder that causes the skin to develop abnormally thick and тιԍнт. The condition can leave people vulnerable to painful skin cracking, infections and difficulties regulating body temperature and hydration.

For Jamison, it has been part of his life since birth.

But according to his mother, Alicia, this summer has brought some of the most frightening days they have ever experienced.

In a video shared with others, Jamison talks openly about spending the entire summer in the hospital.

“I have been in the hospital for this whole summer,” he says. “I got nothing to do… it doesn’t make me happy.”

Then comes the request that has touched so many people:

“Please pray for me.”

Alicia says that shortly before Jamison recorded the video, his symptoms had become so severe that his prescribed pain medication was no longer providing enough relief.

She says he was crying, vomiting and struggling tremendously.

He was also battling two bacterial infections, placing additional stress on a body that already faces enormous challenges because of his underlying condition.

“In all of these years going through this I can say this has by far been the scariest and worst experience for the both of us,” Alicia shared, describing the emotional, physical and mental toll of the situation.

There is, however, one encouraging update.

Jamison is more stable today.

But his family is still facing an incredibly difficult moment.

Alicia says she is preparing to meet with 12 specialists, along with hospice and palliative-care teams, for a meeting focused on his care moving forward.

She admits she feels completely unprepared.

For a mother, it is difficult enough to watch a child endure serious illness.

It is something else entirely to hear your 9-year-old describe how exhausted he feels after spending months surrounded by hospital walls, while knowing that a room full of specialists is about to discuss the next stage of his care.

Yet Alicia says she will continue sharing the difficult parts of Jamison’s journey.

Not because the story is easy.

But because this is their reality.

And right now, the family is asking people not for judgment, but for compᴀssion.

They are asking for the very thing Jamison himself requested.

Prayer. 💙🙏

Please pray for relief from Jamison’s pain.

Pray that the infections respond to treatment.

Pray for wisdom for every doctor and specialist involved in his care.

Pray for compᴀssion and strength for his mother, Alicia, as she walks through days no parent should have to face.

And most importantly, pray that Jamison knows he is seen, loved and remembered.

A 9-year-old should be thinking about friends, games, school and the simple joys of childhood.

Instead, Jamison has spent much of his summer in a hospital fighting battles most children could never imagine.

But even in the middle of that struggle, he found the courage to look into a camera and speak directly to the world.

“Please pray for me.”

So let’s make sure he knows someone heard him.

Leave Jamison a message of encouragement. Tell him that people are thinking of him. Remind him that his life matters and that he is much more than his illness or the hospital room surrounding him. 💙
