More than £100,000 has been raised to support the family of three-year-old Noah Woods, who died after going missing.

Noah became separated from a relative after visiting a playground in Merriam Close in Brantham, Suffolk on Tuesday afternoon.

A huge search was launched, with around 1,300 members of the public joining efforts to find him.

Police said Noah was non-verbal, partially deaf and had been undergoing an ᴀssessment for autism.

His body was found by Metropolitan Police divers in a lake known locally as Decoy Pond on Wednesday afternoon.

Suffolk Police said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A fundraising page was later set up by Good Dads Club, a community of fathers based in Colchester, EsSєx.

By Saturday more than 6,000 people had donated over £100,000.

Organisers said the money would help Noah’s family with expenses and allow them to take time away from work while they grieve.

Good Dads Club said it had originally expected to raise a much smaller amount.

It described the response as an “astonishing avalanche of kindness, compᴀssion and empathy”.

The group said: “We set the page up, but it’s absolutely not about us.

“We are here to shine a light on a wonderful community of people who have united to help search for Noah and offer support to the Woods family.”

Noah’s family have been told about the fundraiser and are said to be “incredibly grateful” for the support.

His father, Rhys Woods, paid tribute to his son in a message shared on a community Facebook group.

He said: “There are no words to describe the pain of this loss.

“We are all absolutely heartbroken.

“Noah was the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give, and we are going to miss him so very much.”

Suffolk Police said Noah’s idenтιтy had been formally confirmed, subject to confirmation at an inquest.

Officers said there are still inquiries to complete before a file is sent to the coroner.
