Texas Father Faces Murder Charge After Estranged Wife Is Found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ in His Plano Apartment

A Texas father has been arrested and charged with murder after his estranged wife was found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ inside his Plano apartment, authorities said.

Jake Bigoni, 37, was taken into custody Wednesday after police conducted a welfare check at his apartment and discovered the body of his estranged wife, Eliana Bigoni. The couple were in the process of divorcing at the time of her death.

According to police, Bigoni was initially booked on a felony charge related to abuse of a corpse before investigators later added a murder charge.

The case reportedly began after Bigoni’s mother contacted police. She told authorities that her son had called her and allegedly said that he had “something to tell” her, before telling her that Eliana was ᴅᴇᴀᴅ and that the two had gotten into a fight.

Police later went to the apartment to conduct a welfare check and discovered Eliana’s body inside.

Their children were reportedly inside
Authorities said the couple’s two young children were inside the apartment at the time of the alleged killing. Fortunately, the children were not physically harmed.

The circumstances surrounding what led to the confrontation remain under investigation. Police have not publicly released all details about how Eliana died or what investigators believe happened inside the apartment.

According to Fox News, authorities also said Bigoni had a history of violent behavior, adding another troubling element to the investigation.

The case comes as investigators work to reconstruct the final moments of Eliana’s life and determine exactly what happened between the estranged couple.

Bigoni remains accused of killing his wife, and the allegations against him have not been proven in court. As the criminal case moves forward, investigators are expected to examine physical evidence, witness statements and the couple’s history to establish what happened.

For Eliana’s family and loved ones, the tragedy has left behind not only the loss of a mother but also two young children who must now grow up without her.

What began as a marriage that was already breaking apart has now become a criminal investigation into the death of a mother—and a family left searching for answers.
