PART 2: THE FAMILY SECRET BEHIND THE FIGHT

PART 2: THE FAMILY SECRET BEHIND THE FIGHT

Rocky took the pH๏τograph from his son’s trembling hand.

His face went still.

The woman from the restaurant was standing beside someone Rocky knew very well.

Frank.

Rocky slowly looked at his brother-in-law.

“You knew her?”

Frank didn’t answer.

“Frank.”

Still nothing.

Rocky stepped closer.

“Tell me the truth.”

Frank finally sighed.

“She wasn’t attacking your son.”

Rocky’s eyes hardened.

“Then what happened?”

Frank explained that Rocky’s son had confronted the woman after discovering she had been meeting with someone from the Balboa family.

She had tried to stop him from revealing what he had learned.

The confrontation turned physical.

But there was something else.

Frank hadn’t destroyed her phone because he was angry.

He had destroyed it because it contained evidence.

Rocky looked at the broken pieces on the floor.

“What evidence?”

Frank lowered his voice.

“A recording.”

“Of what?”

Frank looked around the restaurant.

“Of your son being offered money to lie about something that happened years ago.”

Rocky’s expression changed.

“Who offered him the money?”

Frank hesitated.

Then the woman spoke.

“Your family.”

Rocky turned toward her.

“What are you talking about?”

She looked directly at him.

“Your son found out that someone close to you has been stealing money from your foundation.”

Rocky stared at his son.

“Is that true?”

His son nodded.

“I tried to tell you.”

Rocky closed his eyes for a moment.

All those years of trusting his family.

All those people he’d helped.

And someone had been using his name to steal from the very people he was trying to protect.

Then the restaurant doors opened.

A police officer walked inside.

“Rocky Balboa?”

Rocky turned.

“Yes?”

The officer held out an envelope.

“We received an anonymous report.”

Rocky opened it.

Inside was a pH๏τograph.

It showed Frank meeting with a bank manager.

And beneath the pH๏τograph was a handwritten message:

“The person you’re protecting is the person you should fear.”

Rocky looked up.

Frank was gone.

The back door was swinging open.

Rocky looked at his son.

Then at the empty doorway.

“Stay here.”

He walked toward the exit.

Because this time, Rocky wasn’t fighting for his reputation.

He was fighting to uncover the truth about his own family.
