Lindsey Burrow’s Heartbreak Continues as She Raises Three Children While Keeping Rob’s Memory Alive

Two years after losing rugby league legend Rob Burrow, Lindsey Burrow continues to navigate life without the husband she had known since they were teenagers. While grief remains part of her everyday life, her focus is on raising their three children — Macy, Maya and Jackson — and ensuring their father remains an important part of their lives.

Rob, a beloved Leeds Rhinos star, died in June 2024 at the age of 41 after living with motor neurone disease (MND). His determination throughout his illness touched people across the UK, while his campaigning alongside former teammate Kevin Sinfield helped raise millions for MND awareness and research.

A Family Learning to Live With Loss

In interviews published in October 2026, Lindsey spoke candidly about the challenges of raising the children without Rob. She explained that grief can arrive unexpectedly — sometimes triggered by a song, a family milestone or an ordinary moment when she wishes he were there.

She has also shared how the children continue to remember their father. Family memories, conversations and keepsakes help them talk about Rob and preserve the connection they share with him. Although they miss him deeply, Lindsey says their strength and ability to keep moving forward have helped her through difficult days.

Keeping Rob’s Legacy Alive

Beyond family life, Lindsey has continued supporting MND awareness and the work inspired by Rob. The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds represents a lasting part of his vision to improve care for people living with the condition.

Her commitment reflects a promise she made to keep living life fully, even after such a profound loss. There are still difficult days, but she continues to build new memories with her children while making space for the memories they share of their father.

Rob’s sporting achievements made him a household name, but for Lindsey and their children, his most enduring legacy is the husband and father they loved. Their story is a reminder that grief does not follow a straight path — and that love can remain a powerful part of family life long after someone is gone.
