GARY SIDERS SR.: A LAST-MINUTE ACCOUNT POINTS INVESTIGATORS TOWARD NEW EVIDENCE
Fearing that other defendants might turn against him, Gary Siders Sr. reportedly began talking to investigators, potentially directing authorities toward previously unseen video footage and another unexplained discovery connected to the case.
However, current reporting does not establish that Siders’ statements actually led police to a hidden underground discovery. What is confirmed is that Siders was among four family members arrested after authorities discovered 16 children living in severely neglected conditions at a Hamden, Ohio, home in June 2026.
Siders, 73, was later found incompetent to stand trial after a psychological evaluation concluded that his cognitive condition was not restorable. His attorney said the finding could make it unlikely that Siders would testify in future proceedings involving the other defendants.
The case remains active, with prosecutors and defense attorneys continuing to address the charges and competency issues involving the other defendants.
