The basement was dominated by a mᴀssive trash pile that left only a dining room chair and a bicycle wheel recognizable and the exterior of the property was ringed with additional debris heaps alongside a small broken bicycle and a copy of the children’s book Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster that served as heartbreaking reminders of the lives trapped inside. Two neglected vehicles a silver sedan and a blue Chevy pickup truck remained parked outside their interiors covered in cigarette ʙuттs candy wrappers and garbage as police tape continued to mark the scene more than a week after the discovery. The children ages spanning from roughly 18 months to 18 years had never been enrolled in school and many were unable to speak or communicate effectively with the oldest an 18 year old developmentally disabled girl incapable of writing her own name. Hospital teams across Ohio received them after the rescue with several in serious condition two airlifted to trauma centers and at least one intubated while officials noted the heavy presence of bacterial matter feces and insects.

Charged with 16 counts of felony child endangerment each are grandparents Gary Siders Sr 73 and Christina Lynn Siders 67 along with parents Gary Bub Siders Jr 36 and Elizabeth Siders 33 who authorities say are the biological mother and father of every child.
