CASE UPDATE: LINDSAY CLANCY TRIAL ENDS IN MISTRIAL AS JURY REMAINS ᴅᴇᴀᴅLOCKED
The Lindsay Clancy case has entered a new chapter after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision, leading the judge to declare a mistrial on September 4, 2026.
After more than a week of deliberations, the 12-member jury remained divided 11–1. The lone holdout, Michael Desronvil, maintained his position that Lindsay Clancy should be found criminally responsible, while the other 11 jurors favored a finding that she was not criminally responsible because of her mental illness.
PATRICK CLANCY SPEAKS OUT
Following the mistrial, Patrick Clancy gave his first televised interview since the trial in a September 20 appearance on 60 Minutes.
Patrick spoke about the loss of his three children, his grief and the years he has spent trying to move forward. He also addressed the intense online speculation surrounding the case and said he wanted attention to return to the memory of his children and the importance of perinatal mental-health awareness.
Patrick also said he has forgiven Lindsay. His comments came as the family continues to deal with the aftermath of the tragedy and the unresolved legal case.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The mistrial did not resolve the charges. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will pursue another trial.
Meanwhile, Lindsay Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington has indicated that he intends to ask the court to dismiss the case, arguing that the mistrial should not lead to another prosecution. That motion is scheduled to be addressed at a September 29 hearing.
For now, the case remains unresolved, with the September 29 hearing expected to provide the next major update.
