Baby S Case: Four Adults Face Murder Charges as Newborn’s Tragic Death Heads Toward 2027 Trial

A newborn girl known in court as Baby S died in Sheffield in circumstances that have shocked the local community. A forensic post-mortem determined that the infant d#ied from stab wounds, and prosecutors have since brought murder charges against four adults in connection with the case.

The four defendants are Andrea Skopova, 20, Peter Horvath Jr, 19, and his parents, Peter Horvath Sr, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37. A 15-year-old girl has separately been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. Two other women who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail.

The case is now moving toward a full trial, scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027, and is expected to last six to seven weeks. All four adults have been remanded in custody, while the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation or sharing potentially prejudicial information online, stressing that the defendants are enтιтled to a fair trial and remain legally presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Behind the court proceedings, however, is the story of a newborn whose life had only just begun — a little girl whose case has left a community searching for answers.
