The room went completely silent.

Elena placed the tablet on the table.

Richard stood behind Lily, one arm still wrapped protectively around his daughter.

Victoria stared at the screen.

“Richard, you don’t need to watch this.”

He looked at her.

“Why not?”

“Because it’s being taken out of context.”

Elena pressed play.

The recording showed Lily walking toward the birthday cake.

The little girl smiled as she looked at the candles.

Then she reached out.

Her finger barely touched the frosting.

The cake shifted.

A small piece fell onto the table.

Lily immediately stepped back.

“I’m sorry.”

Victoria walked toward her.

“You ruined it.”

“I didn’t mean to.”

The recording continued.

Victoria’s voice became louder.

“You always ruin everything!”

Lily backed away.

“Please…”

Then Victoria grabbed her.

Richard’s expression changed.

The video showed Victoria shoving Lily backward.

Lily slipped.

She fell directly into the cake.

The room went silent.

Richard slowly turned toward Victoria.

“You lied to me.”

Victoria’s lips trembled.

“I was angry.”

“You pushed my daughter.”

“She wasn’t hurt!”

Richard looked down at Lily.

She was still trembling beneath his coat.

“She was terrified.”

Victoria stepped forward.

“Richard, please. I can explain.”

But Elena wasn’t finished.

“There is more.”

She tapped the tablet.

Another video appeared.

This one was recorded earlier that afternoon.

Victoria was standing in the hallway, speaking to someone on the phone.

Her voice was clear.

“I don’t care what happens to Lily.”

Richard’s face hardened.

Victoria froze.

The recording continued.

“I need Richard to believe she’s becoming impossible to handle.”

Richard stared at her.

“Why?”

Victoria said nothing.

Elena looked at Richard.

“That isn’t the only thing you should hear.”

She played another section.

Victoria’s voice returned.

“If he thinks Lily is the problem, he’ll send her away.”

Richard’s eyes widened.

“Send her away?”

Lily looked up at her father.

“Daddy…”

Richard pulled her closer.

Victoria suddenly began crying.

“I didn’t mean forever.”

Richard stared at her.

“Then what did you mean?”

She couldn’t answer.

Elena stepped forward.

“She was trying to separate you from your daughter.”

Richard looked at the tablet.

“Why?”

Elena hesitated.

Then she handed him a document.

“Because I found this in Victoria’s private office.”

Richard opened it.

His expression changed.

It was a legal document concerning Lily’s custody.

But there was something even more disturbing.

Someone had already prepared paperwork to remove Richard’s parental rights.

And Victoria’s signature appeared at the bottom.

Richard looked at her in disbelief.

“You planned to take my daughter away from me?”

Victoria shook her head.

“No.”

“Then explain the document.”

She remained silent.

Lily suddenly whispered:

“Daddy…”

Richard knelt beside her.

“What is it, sweetheart?”

Lily pointed toward Victoria.

“She told me yesterday that if I told you what she did…”

The little girl began crying.

He looked at Lily.

“You were wrong.”

Then he turned back toward Victoria.

“The recording didn’t just prove you pushed my daughter. It proved you had been planning to take her away from me.”

And as Victoria was about to be confronted with the consequences, Elena received one final message.

Someone else had been helping Victoria.

And the person in the pH๏τograph was someone Richard trusted completely.
