LINDSAY Clancy has a subtle tribute to her defense attorney hidden on her wheelchair, featuring a frequently repeated phrase from the trial.

Clancy has been on trial for six weeks in Mᴀssachusetts after she strangled her three children to death in January 2023.

The former labor and delivery nurse was left paralyzed from the waist down and dependent on a wheelchair following her suicide attempt after the deaths of her three young children.

On January 24, 2023, Clancy strangled five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-year-old Callan with exercise bands in the basement of their Duxbury home.

She then crushed up pills, harmed herself with a knife from the kitchen and jumped from her second-story bedroom window.

PH๏τos captured of Clancy in court on Wednesday revealed she had a bottle of Diet Coke in the cupholder of her wheelchair.

On other days, a Poland Spring water bottle has been seen in that slot.

But on the side of the cupholder, eagled-eye trial watchers spotted a sticker reading “#SideBah.”

Almost every day of Clancy’s trial has begun with a sidebar, where Clancy’s defense attorney, the prosecutors, and the judge gather out of earsH๏τ of the camera and the people in the courtroom.

With the trial taking place in Mᴀssachusetts, many viewers have picked up on the accents of those in the courtroom, making lighthearted quips about how, in his regional accent, defense attorney Kevin Reddington says “sidebar,” like “sidebah.”

It remains unclear whether the sticker actually belongs to Clancy and who put it on the wheelchair.

During one of Reddington’s fiery moments in court, he called out the prosecutors for allegedly being caught on a courtroom microphone saying “shut her up” as Clancy sobbed uncontrollably in court while a medical examiner read the autopsy report for her youngest child.

“Your Honor first of all, I want to raise an issue with you,” Reddington said.

Judge William Sullivan stood up and pointed toward the side of the courtroom, saying, “Why don’t we come to the sidebar.”

“I don’t want to go to the sidebar, I really don’t want to go to the sidebar,” Reddington said with his Boston accent in full force.

“I want to tell you that they got picked up on a H๏τ mic saying ‘shut her up’ during the playing of that autopsy,” he continued.

“This is not like Handmaid’s Tale where we’re gonna tape her mouth shut.”

Reddington argued Clancy was suffering from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings, and has sought an insanity defense in her case.

The two have formed a close bond in the years since Reddington took on her case, which has been evident in the trial as he could be seen comforting Clancy several times throughout emotional moments in court.

The 75-year-old has over four decades worth of experience as an attorney, and has become an unlikely local celebrity in Mᴀssachusetts.

Underneath his suits he hides several tattoos, including one that says “never represent an informant” in Latin.

The attorney has a black belt in karate but left the practice to take up scuba diving instead, according to Wicked Local.

In his office, the veteran lawyer keeps a variety of items, from swords to skulls to items relating to his cases, including newspaper clippings and brᴀss knuckles from an acquittal.

As of early Thursday morning, jurors had not reached a verdict in Clancy’s case.

The jury said on Tuesday and Wednesday that they were ᴅᴇᴀᴅlocked, and Sullivan sent them back to continue deliberations in hopes they reach a unanimous verdict.

Clancy could be convicted of first-degree or second-degree murder or manslaughter if found guilty.

Jurors could also choose to acquit her or find her not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility.

Clancy’s trial has divided America, with some outside the courthouse gathering in support of her while others rally with signs against her.

“Lindsay is, you know, she’s pretty beat up and is used to not having support, and I think it means a lot to her,” Reddington told The U.S. Sun outside the Plymouth courthouse.

“I’ve tried to tell her that there’s a lot of people that are behind her and at least recognize the fact that she’s a nice person and was dealt bad by the medical profession.”

When questioned about how Clancy has been coping, he said, “She doesn’t have a mindset, you know, she just listens and sits there.”

Reddington was also asked by reporters about whether Clancy could emotionally handle going through a second trial if there is a hung jury, to which he said, “No.”

“She had a flat affect, she’s sad,” he said of her demeanor.

Reddington also told The U.S. Sun that Clancy’s case is the “most emotional case I’ve done probably.”
