TRAGIC UPDATE: OHIO “HOUSE OF HORRORS” CASE TAKES ANOTHER DISTURBING TURN AS INVESTIGATION INVOLVING TWO CHILDREN COMES INTO FOCUS
The Ohio “House of Horrors” investigation has taken another major turn, with authorities revealing that the case involving the Siders family grew out of an earlier investigation involving allegations concerning two children.
According to prosecutors, the original investigation began in December 2025 after authorities received allegations involving two minors. A second investigation was opened in March 2026. Those inquiries eventually led investigators to a warrant connected to Gary Siders Jr., and authorities say the investigation ultimately resulted in the discovery of 16 children living inside the family’s Hamden, Ohio, home.
The latest developments are significant because they show that authorities had been investigating concerns involving the wider family months before the 16 children were discovered in June.
On Aug. 21, a Vinton County grand jury returned additional indictments involving Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders. The couple now faces additional allegations concerning unlawful conduct involving a minor, alongside the existing child-endangerment case connected to the 16 children.
Investigators have not publicly released a verified “secret forensic report” specifically concerning two of the 16 children. Reports currently available instead confirm that the investigation began with allegations involving two minors and later expanded into the broader case. That distinction is important, as claims circulating online about a leaked forensic report should not be treated as established fact without an authenticated document or confirmation from investigators.
The case has continued to raise questions about how the conditions inside the home remained unnoticed for so long. Authorities discovered 16 children ranging in age from approximately 18 months to 18 years when they entered the residence on June 30. The children were subsequently placed in state care while officials worked to provide them with support and services.
The investigation is still developing, and additional court proceedings could reveal more information about what authorities knew, when they knew it and how the separate investigations became connected.
For now, the most important takeaway is that the investigation involving two minors appears to have played a crucial role in bringing authorities to the Siders residence — where they made the discovery that would turn the case into one of Ohio’s most closely watched child-welfare investigations of 2026.
