“MORE THAN THREE WEEKS WITHOUT WILL” — BRITTNEY HOLDS ONTO THE LOVE AND FAITH THAT STILL CONNECT HER TO HER SON

More than three weeks after losing her 15-year-old son Will, Brittney Roberts and her family continue to navigate the overwhelming grief left behind by his pᴀssing.
Will died on July 23, 2026, after a long battle with osteosarcoma. His family’s obituary describes a teenager who loved his family, loved Jesus, made people laugh and continued holding onto his faith throughout an extraordinarily difficult journey.

For Brittney, the days since Will’s pᴀssing have brought an entirely different kind of journey. She has spoken openly about believing that Will is now with Jesus and free from the suffering he endured during his illness. That faith has become an important source of comfort as she learns how to live with his absence.
The memories of Will remain deeply present in the Roberts household — his humor, his personality, his love for his family and the countless moments that made him who he was.
Will’s story has also continued to reach people far beyond his hometown. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey proclaimed August 1 as Will Roberts Day, honoring the teenager whose courage and faith inspired people across the state and beyond.
For Brittney, Jason and Will’s little sister Charlie, moving forward does not mean leaving Will behind. His memory remains part of their family, carried through stories, faith and the love they shared with him.
More than three weeks later, the Roberts family is still grieving — but they are also continuing to celebrate the life of a boy who touched thousands of people simply by being himself.
