š³ FOR TWO YEARS, MARYAM COULDNāT EVEN LIFT HER OWN HEAD ā THEN DOCTORS BEGAN A REMARKABLE FIGHT TO HELP HER

For the first two years of her life, little Maryam lived with a rare condition that caused a severe buildup of fluid inside her skull. As her head became increasingly enlarged, she struggled to turn it or support its weight on her own.
Her parents refused to give up, even after doctors initially hesitated to operate because of the complex risks involved. After hearing the familyās desperate appeal, medical teams eventually agreed to begin treatment.

Maryam has since undergone eight procedures, each lasting around four hours, as doctors worked to manage the fluid buildup. At one point, the medical team was reportedly draining around 500ml of fluid every day.
Her journey has been incredibly difficult, but her parentsā determination never wavered. What began as a situation in which treatment seemed almost impossible has become a long medical journey focused on giving Maryam a chance at a better future.
