The pyramids are one of the largest structures built by humans in ancient times.
Pyramid of Cholula, Mexico : This is considered the largest pyramid in the world in terms of mᴀss and is an important historical and cultural site in the region. According to The Travel , this pyramid is made of unburnt bricks and is larger in mᴀss than the Giza pyramid (Egypt). But what is special is that it is quite low, only about 25m higher than the surrounding plain. Therefore, it is sometimes mistaken for a natural hill rather than a pyramid. David Carballo, an archaeologist at the University of Mᴀssachusetts (USA), said that Cholula could have been built by many ethnic groups to worship gods. This is a big difference from other cultural works. PH๏τo: Matador Network .
Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt : Part of the Giza pyramid complex in Cairo, Egypt, the Great Pyramid of Giza is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing today. It once stood 146.6m high, but has now eroded to 138.5m. It was built under the fourth pharaoh Khufu and was completed around 2560 BC. It is estimated to have taken about 20 years to complete, and there is much debate about its construction. PH๏τo: Sumit Mangela/Unsplash .
Pyramid of Khafre, Egypt : This is the second largest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex. It was built under the pharaoh Khafre, son of the pharaoh Khufu. The structure is about 143.5m high, with a square base measuring about 215.5m on each side. The pyramid originally had a smooth limestone casing on the outside, which made it shine brightly in the sun. However, most of this casing has eroded over the centuries, and today only a small part of the casing at the top of the structure remains. The pyramid is also famous for the giant Sphinx, a statue with a human head and the body of a lion that towers over the pyramid. The Sphinx is said to represent Pharaoh Khafre and acts as a guardian of the Giza pyramid complex. PH๏τo: Siddhesh Mangela/Unsplash .
Tonina Pyramid, Mexico : This is a giant pyramid estimated to be about 2,000 years old of the Maya civilization in Chiapas, Mexico. This structure is known for its tall and sloping structure, reaching a height of about 74m. One of the notable features of the Tonina Pyramid is the hieroglyphic inscriptions found on its walls. These inscriptions provide valuable information about the history, politics, and mythological beliefs of the ancient Maya civilization. The hieroglyphics recount the lineage of the rulers, their achievements, and their interactions with other Mayan city-states.

Chogha Zanbil, Iran : This is the largest ziggurat in Iran today. The term ziggurat refers to ancient, forgotten temples or pyramids in Mesopotamia. They were largely forgotten because they were built of mud bricks and have suffered severe erosion over time. Chogha Zanbil was originally about 53m high and had a temple on top. Today, the structure is only about 24.75m high due to erosion. PH๏τo: Iran Royal Holiday .
Bent Pyramid, Egypt : This is the second pyramid built by the pharaoh Sneferu around 2600 BC. The pyramid gets its name from its distinctive curved shape. The lower part of the pyramid has a steep incline, but at a certain point, the angle of incline changes abruptly, resulting in a shallower slope. Due to errors in calculations, the builders were forced to build at an angle to prevent the pyramid from collapsing. Visitors can visit this special structure. PH๏τo: Dmitrii Zhodzishskii/Unsplash .
