When Ebrar Jaber was born, her family faced a devastating diagnosis. 👶💔

Ebrar was born with encephalocele, a rare neural tube defect that caused part of her brain to protrude through an opening in her skull. Doctors in Winnipeg warned her mother, Safaa Jaber, that her baby might not survive after birth. 🏥🧠

But Ebrar did survive.

When she was just seven months old, she underwent an extremely complex brain surgery. Doctors carefully drained the fluid surrounding her brain and worked to place the affected brain tissue back inside her skull. The procedure carried enormous risks, and Ebrar was given only about a 50% chance of surviving. 🙏💔

Once again, she defied the odds. 🥹💙

Her mother describes Ebrar as an “angel”, saying she is incredibly strong and patient after everything she has endured. ✨👼

Now two years old, Ebrar continues to face significant challenges. She is deaf in one ear and may eventually lose hearing in both ears. Doctors also expect developmental delays, and her family has been told that she may never be able to walk. 🥺

She currently receives regular care from specialists and a physiotherapist and is fed through a tube. Her mother carefully watches every small response — a sound, a movement or a reaction to her voice — and treasures each moment. 💗🌷

Despite the uncertainty surrounding her future, Safaa refuses to focus only on what Ebrar may not be able to do.

To her, Ebrar is simply her precious daughter — a little girl who survived when doctors once feared she wouldn’t. ❤️

Her family has endured an incredibly difficult journey, but they continue to hope that Ebrar will keep improving and discovering new ways to connect with the world around her. 🌈🙏
