🥺💙👨‍👦 A FATHER GAVE HIS SON MORE THAN LOVE — HE GAVE HIM PART OF HIMSELF 🌈🙏
When little Harry Jackson was born with intestinal malrotation, his family knew he faced serious medical challenges.

His bowel had not developed in the usual position, leaving him at risk of a dangerous complication called volvulus. For years, Harry depended on intravenous nutrition to stay alive — but over time, the treatment began damaging his liver. 💔🏥

His parents, Gary Jackson and Annie Cerveno, had always known that Harry might eventually need a transplant.

They just never imagined that his liver would become the most urgent problem.

💙🌷 A FATHER PREPARED TO GIVE EVERYTHING
Both parents were tested as potential living donors.

Gary was found to be a 98% HLA match — but donating safely meant preparing his own body for an extraordinary operation.

At 47, he changed his lifestyle, improved his fitness and lost around 38 kilograms.

Then, on January 29, 2025, father and son entered the operating theatre together.

Over approximately 17 hours, surgeons took around 20% of Gary’s liver and 1.5 metres of small bowel and transplanted them into Harry. The combined living-donor liver-and-bowel transplant was an exceptionally rare procedure. 🏥✨

🥹💗 A SECOND CHANCE
Gary recovered in about six weeks, while Harry gradually grew stronger.

The transplant did not mean the end of medical challenges. Harry still faces the lifelong risks that come with transplantation and immunosuppressive treatment.

But it gave him something incredibly precious:

more time with his family. 🌈

For Gary, becoming his son’s donor was more than a medical decision.

It was an expression of a father’s love — one that required him to give a part of himself so his little boy could have another chance at life.

Sometimes, a parent’s greatest gift isn’t something they can buy or build. Sometimes, it’s simply saying, “If you need a part of me, you can have it.” 🥺💙🙏✨
