An adorable little girl has captured hearts around the world—not because of a fancy hairstyle, but because of a beautiful natural feature she inherited through four generations of her family.

Eighteen-month-old MilliAnna, from South Carolina, was born with a striking white streak running through her otherwise dark hair. Even more remarkable, the unique birthmark perfectly matches the one worn by her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

MilliAnna’s mother, Brianna, 23, grandmother Jennifer, 41, and great-grandmother Joanne, 59, were all born with the same eye-catching white patch above their foreheads. Because Joanne was adopted and does not know her biological relatives, the family believes the trait may have existed for even more generations.

The white streak is caused by poliosis, a rare condition that results in patches of hair or skin lacking pigment. While unusual, it is generally harmless.

Her younger sister was born without the white streak, so there was no guarantee that MilliAnna would have it too.

“I was hoping she did have it. Once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it, I was so happy.”
