Christa Pike’s case has entered another critical stage, but one important detail remains unchanged: September 30, 2026, is still the execution date set by the Tennessee Supreme Court.

The court’s order states that Pike is scheduled to be executed at Riverbend Maximum Security Insтιтution on September 30, unless the court or another appropriate authority orders otherwise. Tennessee’s Department of Correction has also issued media guidance for the scheduled date, indicating that preparations remain underway.

At the same time, Pike’s attorneys continue pursuing clemency and other legal avenues that could potentially affect what happens next.

⚖️ THE DATE REMAINS — BUT THE CASE IS STILL ACTIVE

The September 30 date was formally established by the Tennessee Supreme Court after the state requested an execution date.

In its order, the court rejected Pike’s request for a certificate of commutation and concluded that she had not established a legal basis at that stage to prevent the sentence from being carried out.

The order nevertheless makes clear that the scheduled date could change if the court or another appropriate authority intervenes.

That distinction is important.

A scheduled exec#tion is not the same thing as a guaranteed outcome.

Pike’s attorneys continue to pursue legal and clemency options as the date approaches.

🕊️ IACHR URGES THE UNITED STATES TO STOP THE EXEC#TION

One of the newest developments came on September 18, when the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) formally urged the United States and Tennessee not to carry out Pike’s sentence.

The commission said Pike is already the beneficiary of precautionary measures dating back to 2020 and asked authorities to take the necessary steps to protect her life and personal integrity while her case remains under consideration within the inter-American human-rights system.

The IACHR cited concerns including allegations that Pike’s court-appointed attorneys failed to adequately present mitigating evidence about her childhood abuse, Sєxual violence and mental-health circumstances when she was sentenced.

The commission also raised concerns about the lengthy period Pike has spent in solitary confinement as the only woman on Tennessee’s d#ath row.

However, the IACHR’s request does not itself move Tennessee’s scheduled date. The September 30 date remains on the state’s calendar unless an authority with the power to intervene issues a stay or otherwise changes the order.

💔 CLEMENCY REMAINS ANOTHER POSSIBLE PATH

Pike’s attorneys have also asked Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee to commute her d#ath sentence to life in pr#son without parole.

Their clemency arguments have focused on circumstances surrounding Pike’s childhood, her mental-health history and other mitigating factors.

The clemency process is separate from the court proceedings, meaning that a decision by the governor could potentially affect the sentence even while the court-ordered date remains in place.

As of the latest reports, however, there has been no announced clemency decision that moves or cancels the September 30 date.

🚨 TENNESSEE CONTINUES PREPARATIONS

The Tennessee Department of Correction published an official media advisory on September 14 concerning Pike’s scheduled September 30 exec#tion.

The department provided instructions for credentialed media and specified arrival and access procedures for the day, another indication that the state continues to treat September 30 as the operative date.

That does not mean every legal avenue has been exhausted.

It simply means that, at this point, the state has not announced a change to the schedule.

⏳ COULD THE CASE STILL CHANGE?

Yes — but that remains an open question rather than a confirmed development.

A court could issue a stay or another order. The governor could make a clemency decision. Other legal proceedings could also affect the schedule.

The IACHR has now added another international human-rights appeal to the growing legal and diplomatic pressure surrounding the case.

But none of those developments has, as of the latest available information, moved the date.

For now, the key fact remains simple:

Christa Pike’s September 30, 2026 exec#tion date has not been moved.

The clock is still running, while her attorneys continue seeking a different outcome through the remaining legal and clemency avenues.
