A new claim circulating online focuses on a brief response from Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, and suggests that his words somehow revived long-running rumors surrounding Patrick Clancy.

The timing is notable because Lindsay’s trial has just ended in a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict following seven days of deliberations. The defense had argued throughout the trial that Lindsay was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for what happened to her children.

But there is an important distinction between what Reddington actually said and what social media is suggesting he meant.

Following the mistrial, Reddington spoke to reporters and made several blunt comments about the prosecution. Sky News reported that when asked whether he would change anything if the case were retried, Reddington responded, “Why would I? I won the case.” He also said he believed the prosecution had been “crushed” and that it did not have a case.

Those remarks have since been pulled into online speculation about Patrick Clancy. However, reliable reporting does not establish that Reddington was making a hidden accusation against Patrick, nor does it confirm that his comments revealed previously undisclosed evidence involving him.

Patrick himself remains a central figure in the case because he was the person who discovered what had happened at the family home in January 2023 and called emergency services. His emotional 911 call was played for the jury during the trial, and he later testified about returning home that day.

After the mistrial, Patrick’s attorney released a statement saying that losing his children was something from which Patrick would never recover and that facing another trial would be “extraordinarily painful” for him and his family.

For now, the “three words” story should be treated as an interpretation circulating online, not as proof of a new revelation about Patrick Clancy.

The legal case itself remains unresolved. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek a retrial, while a September 29 hearing is expected to address the next steps.
