💔 JANESSA MARTÍNEZ, 2, DIES AFTER ALLEGED ABUSE — MOTHER AND BOYFRIEND FACE SERIOUS CHARGES

She was only two years old. Doctors fought to save her, but the injuries were ultimately too severe. Now her father is preparing to bring his little girl home to Chicago — for the final goodbye. 🕊️

Two-year-old Janessa MartĂnez has died after authorities say she suffered catastrophic injuries in an alleged abuse case that has now become a homicide investigation.

According to court documents, Janessa’s mother’s boyfriend, 29-year-old Gerardo González, allegedly admitted repeatedly striking the toddler and stepping on her pelvis.

Janessa’s mother, 28-year-old Jazmin Cisneros, is also facing serious charges. Investigators allege that she knew her daughter had suffered significant injuries but did not immediately seek emergency medical attention.

The case began on August 6, 2026, when authorities responded to a report involving a severely injured child at a gas station.

Janessa was rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to another medical facility because of the severity of her condition.

According to court documents, doctors determined that the two-year-old had suffered a fractured skull, fractured pelvis, and lacerated liver.

Medical teams worked to save her life.

But despite those efforts, Janessa ultimately died from her injuries. đź’”

Her death transformed an already serious child-injury investigation into a potential homicide prosecution.

🕊️ What Investigators Allege

Investigators focused their attention on González, who was in a relationship with Janessa’s mother.

According to an affidavit, González allegedly admitted that he had repeatedly struck Janessa in the head several days before she was hospitalized, around August 1.

Authorities further allege that the violence continued on August 6.

González reportedly admitted striking the toddler’s body and stepping on her pelvis.

Investigators believe the alleged abuse caused the devastating injuries that eventually led to Janessa’s death.

The allegations against Cisneros have also become a central part of the investigation.

According to court documents, investigators allege that she observed signs that her daughter was seriously injured, including facial swelling, a limp ear, and other visible trauma.

Authorities say she nevertheless did not immediately seek medical treatment.

Investigators allege Cisneros explained that she did not seek help because she knew González “would go to jail.”

That statement is now part of the evidence being examined as authorities work to establish what each adult knew, when they knew it, and what they did afterward.

đź’” A Father Preparing to Say Goodbye

Janessa was eventually transported for emergency medical treatment in critical condition.

Because of the severity of her injuries, she was flown to another medical center for specialized care.

Doctors fought to keep the little girl alive.

But Janessa’s injuries were ultimately too severe.

She died, leaving her family facing a loss that no parent should ever have to endure.

Her father, Norman, remains in Houston as he prepares to bring his daughter home to Chicago.

But he will not be returning home with the little girl he expected to hold.

Instead, he is preparing to say goodbye. 🕊️💔

⚖️ The Legal Case

González remains jailed on a $1 million bond after a judge declined to reduce the amount.

Cisneros is also in custody, with her bond set at $500,000.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Janessa’s injuries and death. Prosecutors had previously indicated that charges against González could be upgraded if Janessa did not survive, and authorities are now evaluating possible additional or upgraded charges following her death.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further charges may be filed as detectives and prosecutors continue reviewing the evidence.

Both González and Cisneros are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

But beyond the allegations, charges, and courtroom proceedings is a little girl whose life ended far too soon.

Janessa was only two.

She should have been learning, playing, laughing, celebrating birthdays, and growing up surrounded by the people who were supposed to protect her. ❤️

Instead, her family is preparing to mourn a child who should have had her entire life ahead of her.
