The father of four children found ᴅᴇᴀᴅ alongside their mother and grandmother in an upstate New York home has shared the final conversation he had with them just days before the tragedy.

Brady Harmon told reporters that he spoke with his children during a 15-minute FaceTime call on June 7, describing them as happy and excited.

“They seemed like happy little kids,” Harmon said.

He recalled Harper proudly showing her drawings, Grace sharing her artwork, Hudson introducing the family cat, and Gavin excitedly displaying something he had built.

According to investigators, 13-year-old Harper Harmon, 11-year-old Hudson Harmon, and 10-year-old twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon were found deceased inside a Mechanicville apartment along with their mother, Sarah Myers, and their maternal grandmother, Amy Steadman.

Authorities believe Steadman may have been involved in the deaths, but the investigation remains ongoing. Police have stated that evidence recovered from the home—including a handwritten note, prescription medications, and over-the-counter drugs—suggests intentional poisoning. Investigators are still awaiting laboratory results before announcing final conclusions regarding the causes of death.

Officials have also confirmed that one of the children suffered a stab wound. Authorities have not yet released final forensic findings explaining how each victim died.

Harmon said he had not seen his children in person since 2019 but had recently been awarded two months of custody, with plans to bring them to Utah on July 1 for the summer.

“I was supposed to be flying out on the 30th, gathering my kids and flying them home,” he said.

Instead, local police arrived at his home with the devastating news.

“They say time heals all wounds, but this is a gaping hole that will never heal,” Harmon said.

He also shared that he intends to lay his children to rest in Utah, saying he believes it is his responsibility as their father.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing forensic evidence and awaiting additional results from the crime laboratory. Authorities have not announced whether any additional findings or charges will follow.

As the community mourns this unimaginable loss, many continue to keep the Harmon family in their thoughts while hoping the ongoing investigation will provide clear answers about what happened.
