💔🚨 SHE WAS JUST HEADED TO WORK — AN APPARENT ROAD-RAGE SHOOTING ENDED HER LIFE

Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, was supposed to be an ordinary workday for La’Taivia Davis.

She was simply driving to work in North Texas, beginning what should have been another routine morning.

Instead, according to Fort Worth police, La’Taivia became the victim of an apparent road-rage shooting that ended her life and left investigators searching for the person responsible.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., La’Taivia was traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 near the 3700 block, around Trail Lake Drive and Granbury Road.

Police say another driver was traveling alongside her when the situation escalated.

According to authorities, the other driver allegedly pulled alongside La’Taivia’s vehicle and fired multiple sH๏τs.

La’Taivia was struck.

Her vehicle then lost control and crashed underneath the Trail Lake Drive overpᴀss.

Within moments, what had begun as an ordinary morning commute became a devastating scene.

Officers and emergency personnel responded to the area and attempted lifesaving measures. Despite their efforts, La’Taivia was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver believed to be responsible reportedly continued driving and fled the area.

For La’Taivia’s family, there would be no phone call saying she had arrived safely at work. No ordinary end-of-day conversation. No chance to see her walk through the door again.

But La’Taivia was far more than a victim identified in a police investigation.

She was an instructional aide at E. Ray Elementary School in the Everman Independent School District.

Her work placed her alongside young children during some of the most important years of their lives. She was part of a school community where her presence mattered — to students, coworkers and families.

An instructional aide can make a difference in countless quiet ways: offering encouragement, helping a child understand something difficult, providing reᴀssurance or simply being a familiar and caring adult during the school day.

La’Taivia was supposed to be there that morning.

Her students were supposed to see her.

Her coworkers were supposed to greet her.

Instead, they are now left grieving her sudden loss.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and authorities are seeking information that could help identify the driver responsible.

For La’Taivia’s loved ones, however, the investigation is more than a search for answers.

It is a search for accountability for a life that should never have been taken during an ordinary drive to work.

She was someone’s daughter. Someone’s loved one. A trusted member of a school community.

And she should have made it through those school doors that morning.
