💔🚨 SHE CALLED FOR HELP — THEN 22-YEAR-OLD ASIA BENNETT NEVER CAME HOME

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — Asia Bennett was only 22 years old when a domestic dispute in Jacksonville ended in a fatal confrontation with police — and now her family is demanding answers about what happened during the final moments of her life.

On Tuesday night, August 11, 2026, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in Arlington following a reported domestic dispute.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to a residence on Westdale Drive near Pine Bluff Drive at approximately 10:45 p.m. The call reportedly involved a battery with injuries.

Police say a man approached an arriving officer and told her he had been involved in an argument with his girlfriend, Asia Bennett, who was still inside the home.

According to the police account, the man also said Bennett had a knife.

Moments later, Bennett came outside carrying several items.

JSO says officers ordered her to put everything down. Police allege that Bennett placed some items on the ground but continued holding a large kitchen knife.

Officers reportedly gave her repeated commands to release it.

What happened next has become the central question for Bennett’s family.

According to JSO, Bennett moved toward the officer, who then fired one sht. Police say Bennett fell but did not immediately release the knife. Investigators further allege that she attempted to get back up and again moved toward the officer, prompting a second sht.

A backup officer arrived and continued issuing commands, according to police. Eventually, authorities said, Bennett released the knife.

Firefighters and paramedics treated her at the scene before she was transported to a hospital.

She did not survive.

Asia Bennett was 22.

Her mother, Crissy Duncan, said she received a phone call shortly before 4 a.m. from someone with the State Attorney’s Office asking whether she knew an Asia Bennett.

Duncan identified herself as Asia’s mother and then learned the devastating news.

Her daughter’s death has left the family questioning the circumstances of the confrontation.

Duncan described Asia as sweet and quiet, saying she never believed her daughter was someone who intentionally wanted to hurt anyone. She also disputed the portrayal of Asia as a dangerous person.

Now the family has retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump.

Their demand is simple: release the evidence.

The family and Crump are calling for the release of available body-camera footage, 911 recordings and dispatch records surrounding the incident.

They want to know what officers saw, what was said and what happened during the seconds before the first sh*t.

Most importantly, they want the public record to show exactly what happened.

The police account remains the official description of the confrontation, while the family’s questions remain unresolved.
