At just four years old, Ka’Vayah’s life changed in an instant.

It began with unexpected seizures. Doctors soon discovered that she had a rare abnormal tangle of blood vessels in her brain, most consistent with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). The fragile vessels had ruptured, causing bleeding in her brain. 🧠💔

Ka’Vayah underwent emergency surgery, followed by multiple additional brain operations — including one extraordinarily difficult procedure that lasted around 11 hours. 🏥🙏

The years that followed were filled with rehabilitation, medical appointments and countless challenges. She needed protective equipment, including a specialized helmet, while working to regain strength and function. 💙🪖

Slowly, Ka’Vayah began making progress.

Her family watched with hope as she smiled, grew stronger and found moments of happiness despite everything she had endured. 🌈🥹

For a while, they hoped the hardest part of her journey was finally behind them.

Then came heartbreaking news.

A recent medical check-up revealed that residual or returning abnormal blood vessels had been identified. For Ka’Vayah and her family, it meant facing another period of uncertainty, specialist appointments and the possibility of additional treatment. 💔🏥

Conditions like brain AVMs can require long-term monitoring, and treatment depends on the location and complexity of the abnormal blood vessels. Doctors may consider surgery, embolization, radiosurgery or a combination of approaches. Ongoing rehabilitation and neurological care can also be an important part of recovery. 🩺💙

But through every setback, Ka’Vayah continues to show remarkable strength.
