18-YEAR-OLD ELI RIVERA WAS READY FOR COLLEGE — THEN A SUDDEN HEALTH BATTLE CHANGED EVERYTHING

Next week, 18-year-old Eli Rivera was supposed to be moving into his college dorm and beginning an exciting new chapter of his life.

After graduating from high school, Eli had been preparing to attend Texas A&M–Kingsville this fall, where he planned to study Civil Engineering. He had been looking forward to everything that comes with starting college — meeting new friends, settling into a dorm, attending classes and taking the first steps toward the future he had imagined for himself.

But about a month ago, everything changed.

Eli began feeling unwell, and after undergoing medical tests, his family received news they never expected. Instead of preparing for move-in day, the 18-year-old is now facing a serious medical battle in a San Antonio hospital.

For Eli and his family, the plans that once seemed so close suddenly had to be put on hold. The college dorm, new classes and dreams of becoming a civil engineer can wait. Right now, the focus is on getting through the days ahead and helping Eli regain his strength.

At just 18, he should be thinking about his first semester and everything his future might hold. Instead, his family is standing beside him as he begins a journey none of them ever expected.

The road ahead may be uncertain, but Eli’s family is holding тιԍнтly to hope and asking others to keep him in their thoughts and prayers.

His story is a reminder of how quickly life can change — and how much a young person’s future can still be worth fighting for. 💙🙏
