Every day at Caddo Hills High School, Tanner Wilson watched his friend Brandon Qualls make his way through the long school hallways in a manual wheelchair.

Tanner noticed the things others might overlook — how much effort Brandon had to use, how often he needed to stop and rest, and how exhausting an ordinary trip between classrooms could be. ♿💙

Brandon never complained or asked anyone to make things easier.

So Tanner decided to do something himself.

While working part-time at a local auto shop, he quietly began saving part of every paycheck. Not for a new phone, clothes or something for himself — but for an electric wheelchair for Brandon. 🥹💗

For more than two years, Tanner saved. Then he spent almost another year searching for the right wheelchair, one that could give his friend greater freedom and independence.

Finally, on February 26, 2019, Tanner surprised Brandon at school with help from teachers and friends.

The wheelchair was even personalized with Brandon’s favorite color, orange, and his last name on the headrest. 🧡✨

When Brandon saw it, he could hardly believe what was happening.

He became emotional realizing that his friend had spent years saving money simply because he wanted to make Brandon’s everyday life a little easier.

For Brandon, it wasn’t just a wheelchair.
