Little Elmira Knutzen was born with a physical difference affecting her hands. But instead of letting that stop her from discovering the world, she continues to find her own creative ways to do everyday things. 💕✨

Recently, her family watched proudly as Elmira figured out how to feed herself using her foot. She carefully adjusted a potato and fork before lifting her foot and guiding the food toward her mouth. 🥔🥹

It may have looked like a simple meal, but to her family, it was a beautiful milestone.

She was learning to do something for herself — in her own way. 💗

Her family says Elmira is funny, curious, determined and deeply loved. Moments like this remind them that a child’s abilities cannot be measured simply by appearance or by what may be different about their body. 🌷

There will surely be things Elmira does differently as she grows, but she continues to learn, explore and discover what she can accomplish.
