What was supposed to be a two-week family holiday in the United States became an unexpected journey for Yeridiana Chazares and her husband, Louis Borrill.

At just 25 weeks pregnant, Yeridiana went into premature labor. Their daughter, Lily, arrived weighing only 1lb 11oz — far earlier and smaller than anyone had expected. Doctors warned that her chances of survival were uncertain. 👶💔

The months that followed were filled with NICU care, medical procedures and frightening emergencies. Lily spent around five months in intensive care, facing heart complications and several critical moments when doctors had to resuscitate her. 🏥🙏

For her parents, every day brought a new reason to worry — but also another reason to hope.

With the support of family, friends and a fundraising campaign, they managed the unexpected challenges of an extended stay in the U.S. Slowly, Lily grew stronger and began reaching new milestones. ✨💗

After a critical heart procedure and months of monitoring, Lily was finally well enough to travel home to England.

Returning to Scunthorpe was an emotional moment for her family. After so many months surrounded by hospital equipment and medical teams, they could finally watch their little girl grow in the comfort of home. 🏡🌷

Then came her first birthday.

Lily celebrated with a sweet Moana-themed party, surrounded by the people who had supported her journey. 🎂🌺
