🚨💔 SHE WENT ON VACATION WITH HER FAMILY… FOUR DAYS LATER, HER PARENTS HAD TO SAY GOODBYE 🕊️😭
What began as a family vacation in Maine ended in an unimaginable tragedy when 6-year-old Lucy Morgan suffered a catastrophic injury while playing badminton with her older brother.
Lucy and her family had traveled from New Jersey to Maine for what was supposed to be a peaceful lakeside getaway. There were six family members on the trip, and on the final day of their vacation, Lucy and her 10-year-old brother decided to play badminton using a set provided by the cottage rental company.
Her father, Jesse Morgan, a pastor, and other family members were nearby eating lunch.
Then they heard a scream.
According to the family’s lawsuit, Lucy’s brother swung the racket when its aluminum shaft allegedly came loose and became a projectile, striking the six-year-old in the head.
The moments that followed were devastating.
When first responders arrived, Lucy was breathing but unresponsive. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors worked to save her life.
Despite their efforts, Lucy suffered catastrophic brain injuries. Her family says doctors determined she had lost all brain function and could no longer breathe independently.
Lucy continued fighting for four days.
Then, heartbreakingly, she was gone. 💔🕊️
Now, two years after Lucy’s death, her parents have filed a lawsuit against Franklin Sports, alleging the company failed to adequately warn consumers about the potential danger ᴀssociated with the badminton racket.
The lawsuit represents the family’s position and allegations, which would need to be established through the legal process.
According to the family, the incident was not necessarily an isolated concern.
They point to another reported accident involving a child in New York who allegedly suffered an eye injury while using a similar Franklin racket. The Morgans argue that the company was aware of potential problems with the racket’s construction but failed to make what they believe could have been a simple safety improvement.
The family alleges that adding a pin or another mechanism to help keep the handle securely attached could have prevented the shaft from becoming detached.
They argue that such a modification could have cost very little while potentially preventing devastating injuries.
The lawsuit seeks damages that include funeral expenses, financial losses, emotional distress, loss of comfort and other damages ᴀssociated with Lucy’s death.
For Lucy’s parents, however, no amount of money can replace their daughter.
The lawsuit is ultimately about more than compensation.
It’s about their belief that Lucy should still be alive.
A six-year-old girl went on vacation with her family expecting to return home with memories of a beautiful trip.
Instead, her family returned without her.
Lucy should have had years of birthdays, school days, friendships, family vacations and ordinary childhood moments ahead of her.
She should have been growing up alongside her brother.
Instead, her parents are left carrying memories of the little girl they loved and questions about whether her death could have been prevented. 💔
The family’s legal action now seeks answers and accountability as the case moves forward.
One moment. One accident. One family changed forever.
Rest peacefully, Lucy. 🕊️❤️
