What began as a sudden difficulty standing quickly became a devastating medical journey for the family of four-year-old Rowan.

In the fall of 2024, Rowan began struggling to walk and stand. His mother, Charlie Beasley, noticed that he would sometimes collapse after she sat him down. As his symptoms continued to worsen over several weeks, the family took him to Norton Children’s Hospital in Kentucky.

A full-body MRI revealed a large abdominal mᴀss and a blood clot. Further testing confirmed the heartbreaking diagnosis: metastatic neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. 💔

Neuroblastoma often begins in the adrenal glands or along the nerves near the spine and can spread to other parts of the body.

One recognizable sign can be “raccoon eyes,” or dark discoloration around the eyes caused by cancer spreading to the area around the eye sockets. PH๏τos of Rowan during his early hospital stay showed this striking change, along with the medical equipment that quickly became part of his daily life.

🏥 A Grueling Treatment Journey

Rowan began an intensive treatment plan involving multiple rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and eventually surgery to remove the large tumor in his abdomen.

The treatments were physically and emotionally demanding, but the little boy known for his bright smile continued to bring joy to the hospital rooms around him. 🌟

His family has also faced enormous emotional and financial challenges while caring for Rowan and his three older brothers. Community fundraisers and donations have helped the Beasley family maintain their home and vehicles while making the long journeys required for his ongoing treatment.
