ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty in connection with the fatal beating of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son, Emmanuel Ware.

Timothy Robinson, 37, was responsible for caring for Emmanuel while the child’s mother, Shanice Moore, left home for a job interview.

According to the case details, Robinson contacted emergency services after Emmanuel was seriously injured. He reportedly told authorities that the 3-year-old had been struck by a car.

When officers and medical personnel arrived, however, they found Emmanuel unresponsive inside the home.

Investigators reportedly observed extensive bruising across the child’s body. The injuries were determined to be inconsistent with the explanation that Emmanuel had been struck by a vehicle.

The toddler was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced d*ad.

The circumstances surrounding Emmanuel’s final moments left investigators confronting a far different account from the one initially provided to emergency responders.

Robinson ultimately pleaded guilty to second-degree mrder as well as abuse or neglect of a child resulting in dath.

The 18-year prison sentence also included punishment for a separate crime committed shortly after Emmanuel’s d*ath. According to the case, Robinson attacked and robbed another woman three days after the child died.

For Emmanuel’s mother, the tragedy began with an ordinary responsibility shared by countless working parents: finding someone she trusted to care for her young child while she pursued an opportunity to provide for her family.

Moore had left Emmanuel with Robinson while she attended the job interview. Instead of returning home to her 3-year-old, she was left facing an unimaginable loss.

The case highlights the devastating consequences that can follow when a young child is placed in the care of an adult who allegedly causes serious harm.

Robinson’s guilty plea brought the criminal case to a conclusion and resulted in an 18-year prison sentence.

For Emmanuel’s family, however, the sentence cannot erase the loss of a child who was only 3 years old.
