INDIANA — A 4-year-old girl lost her life after a frightening chain of events unfolded inside an Indiana home in April 2025.

Evelyn Lopez d*ed on April 14, 2025, after authorities said she was attacked by one or more dogs while inside the residence.

According to investigators, the child had been left without adult supervision after Oliva Mora Regalado, 53, the adult responsible for her, suddenly suffered a severe medical emergency and lost consciousness.

While Regalado was incapacitated, Evelyn remained inside the home.

Authorities said one or more dogs then attacked the young girl.

Emergency responders were called to the residence and rushed Evelyn to a nearby medical facility. Despite efforts to save her, she was later pronounced d*ad.

The investigation brought attention to the number of animals inside the home.
