A Kentucky family and community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of a 4-year-old girl whose life ended in a tragic tractor accident just weeks before her fifth birthday.

Hellayna Michelle King, affectionately known as “Layna,” died Wednesday, Sept. 2, following an accident on Red River Road in Clark County, Kentucky, according to Clark County Coroner Neal Oliver.

Oliver said Layna had been riding on the back of a tractor when she fell from it. Tragically, the tractor then accidentally backed over her. 😢💔

The little girl would have turned 5 next month.

For her family, the loss is especially painful because Layna was remembered as a bright, energetic child who brought immense happiness to those around her. Her obituary paints a picture of a little girl who embraced life with an infectious sense of joy.
