At just eight years old, Carter was already learning how cruel the world could feel when you looked different.
Living with vitiligo, he struggled to accept the changes in his appearance. After coming home from school, he would tell his mother something no child should ever have to feel about themselves:

Then, thanks to the incredible kindness of an anonymous donor, Carter and his mother were able to travel to Oregon so the little boy could finally meet the dog who looked so much like him. βοΈπ₯ΉπΎ
And when that moment finally came, something beautiful happened.
